Kevin Rodriguez apparently ran away from home in the 1500 block of East 22nd Street south of downtown L.A. after an argument with his step-mother about 7 p.m. Saturday about cleaning his room, according to his father. He was found at a nearby home before 9 a.m. today, police said.
"The boy has been found," Officer Jacqueline Abad of the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Station said in a telephone interview.
"He was just with some friends," police Sgt. Mitzi Grasso told FOX 11. "He's in good condition with minor injuries, which have not been disclosed in nature."
Los Angeles police had carried out a round-the-clock search for the boy, who only speaks Spanish, Abad said. He comes from El Salvador and has been in the United States only about a month.
