Patti LaBelle, 67, is being sued along with her driver and three bodyguards by Richard King, 23, a West Point cadet. King was beaten by the singer?s security for being too close to her luggage.
The assault was captured by the Bush airport surveillance cameras, which shows King been punched violently in the face. The men continue to punch King until he falls over and strikes his head on a concrete pillar.
King struggles to stand and a stranger passing by helps him.
Richard King was waiting for his family members to pick him up at the arrivals area at Bush International airport.
Patti LaBelle was in the same area, waiting to be taken to L?Auberge du Lac Casino and Resort, where she was performing that night.
The lawsuit states that LaBelle got into her limousine and saw King standing close to her luggage. The singer rolled down the window and asked her security to take action.
Patti didn?t get out of her limo until the victim was taken to the hospital. Then LaBelle posed for photos with a Houston police officer.
?That was really a sad scene for me to see a Houston police officer posing for a photograph with Ms. LaBelle literally standing over the blood of cadet King?, the victim?s attorney stated.
Classy Patti?real classy!
